Like most people I'm convinced that the evidence shows that the Earth is warming up but where I differ is the reason for it.<br /><br />Now the BBC are usually the first to go on and on about climate change but on the TV news on Monday 10th november 2007 they really dropped one and told the truth! They had this reporter stuck up a tree in Borneo explaining that the trees were being cut down etc.<br /><br />He went on to tell us two very revealing facts.<br /><br />1) That the trees in Borneo absorb about 20% of all carbon dioxide in the world and<br /><br />2) That this was more then ALL of the emission caused by all forms of transport worldwide!!<br /><br />That means that every form of transport in the world collectively doesn't even equal the rain forests of Borneo so why am I paying an extra six quid on a flight to France?<br /><br />Even those figures are greatly exaggerated as the figure quoted in "The Great Climate Change Swindle" put out by Channel Four said the figure for all carbon emmission world wide was responsible for less that 1 percent of all carbon gasses in the atmosphere!<br /><br />Is it me or does everyone really agree with this nonsense?<br /><br />I shall return to this subject. I've been meaning to do this for ages. Been on line since the "beginning" in 95 and never done a blog before.<br /><br />Why did I call it Grumpy Old Man? Well after the TV programme a little but I guess I'm getting really grumpy a I get older, {well my girlfriend says I am anyway:-) }, and I really want to share my rants and raves with the world. No? Oh well click somewhere else then :-)<br /><br />For those of you still with me I aint really started yet. Just wait till I get going on that MP Nigel whatsisname who made the unusual error of telling the truth to the Tory party about old Enoch and got the sack for it. Not PC referring to old Powell nowadays notwithstanding that, leaving his comments aside, he was a really clever man being a Greek scholar and rising to the rank of Brigadeer from Private in peacetime etc etc now I'm off on one!!! Oh and btw He went to Wolverhampton grammar school with my late father in law. Remember those?<br /><br />Where was I ? Oh yes the other con trick that's being perpetrated on us by our political masters. I am on about, of course, Climate change - the best excuse to tax us invented so far!!
